Old people are gold

Today I visited my only grandfather in law. He is in his 96th now, which even by outdated standards a great achievement. But now he is so sick and he can't even do his own work. Talking with him and seeing him makes me wonder what we accomplish in this life.

He has been a farmer and a carpenter throughout his life and earned a lot without troubling anyone. I can remember how my dad used to tell me stories about his stays at grandfathers place and how he used to teach him stuff. They are simply beautiful, when i hear such stories i feel cold. By cold i mean what i feel about the old days, it is that those days were beautiful, more greenish, more calm. It is so magical, just like living in those Lord of The Rings hobbits villages. :)

I wandered about in his house today and saw pictures of him in his younger ages, and i felt so sad about this whole illusion named as life. We all will be old one day, and with or without ICT if we can live a happy life, that should be it. Keep thinking on that makes me feel so sorry about nowadays middle class children, they are too stressed and much more forced by their parents and the society to go and compete in life.

Rather we all should think that if we can be happy doing some quite and calm thing that is what we need. We install anti-malware software in our PCs, but we never install them within our selves. That's the reason why we always get infected by new viruses which comes with a special name, new Inventions in Technology.

Think...

Thank you.

Proprietary to the core.

Any developer should be paid for his/her time, skill and creativity that when mixed outputs a masterpiece, named a software. The developer makes someones life easy and in return he should gain something. But when someone have knowledge it should be his moral obligation to share it with those who seek it. By doing so I believe one gain a lot.

Why I am typing this article is because I've understood that some companies, namely Apple sucks at sharing knowledge. It's simply that to put my own Apple product into a live device I need not only an Apple device but also an Account, namely an Apple Developer Account, and it cost something around 99$.

So not only Apple devices are for the rich, but also Apple software development is for the rich. Apple is an awesome company which does a lot of innovations, but it should try to be a little bit reasonable when it comes to knowledge sharing. 'More the applications more we gain' should have been the motto rather than 'to develop an application pay us'.

Just a thought,
Thank you.

Complex life.

It has been a while since i posted anything on my blog. With the busy life I am having it is pretty hard to find any time to sit leisurely and think of something to write in the blog. Then it struck me that the life is so complex. These days I am undergoing my internship at Etisalat lanka (Pvt) Ltd.. So weekdays to office it is.

Why is this life so complex? Where are we running all the time?

These are very common questions. Didn't people who lived in the past spent a happy life? They didn't have computers, phones or anything. They spent there time in farms, considering about agriculture and always dealing with the environment. Coming hone after a busy week in Colombo makes me realize that we are living in one biiiiig illusion. The concept of development, or the concept of technological development. We have to go with the flow in order to survive. But is it enough?

Yesterday evening I was walking along the road to the temple, and it was about to rain, windy and the people who were at the temple, at least most of them are farmers. They were cracking jokes, laughing around and having a great time there, and i was thinking about how to develop a software for an iPhone. I felt sorry about myself. Then i was just staring into the lush green surrounding of my village, and felt sooo relaxed.

Can i get that feeling by staring into a giant building, or a giant LCD display, noooo. We had a life once, and we ourselves have ruined it.

:)
